Each McCormick tractor reflects the passion and dedication of those involved in designing, testing and producing this incredible line-up of tractors. The same passion that Cyrus McCormick had when he reinvented agriculture more than 180 years ago. The McCormick brand was born in Virginia in 1831 boasting the McCormick family name with the invention of the first mechanical reaper. Soon after, the first McCormick Tractor was produced in Chicago, IL, known by many as the tractor that industrialized the United States. Midway through the twentieth century, production was moved to Doncaster, England after which the McCormick brand was purchased by J.I. Case Company. The turn of the century marked the start of a new era when McCormick was bought by the Morra Family out of Italy. North America saw a re-emergence of McCormick Tractors beginning in 2001, only to have the headquarters return to its American roots just a few short years later when Duluth, Georgia became the new home for North American operations. Today McCormick offers agricultural and specialty tractors from 24 to 310 horsepower. We proudly design, engineer, and manufacture all agricultural tractors in-house. Roger Baker was experiencing declining demand for his skills as a classic car restorer, and Joe Works had endured several tough years on the family farm.
